    Health Insurance scheme for the IESL Members

    The renewal is due on 1st of March 2017

    The National Insurance Trust Fund (NITF) offers health insurance scheme for IESL members with following benefits.

    Main Features of the Scheme:

    • This is a group policy commenced in 2011 with annual renewals
    • Members upto 85 years are eligible
    • Join in without undergoing any medical test
    • Sum insured ranges from Rs. 150,000/= upto Rs. 1,000,000 (6 options are available)
    • Rs. 500,000/= cover for 25 critical illnesses* for no increase in premium
    • Personal accidents, eye care, child births, deaths etc., also covered for no additional premium
    • Spectacle coverage once in three years.
    • Treatment taken in Private and Govt. hospitals as well as Aurvedic hospitals are accepted
    • Hassle free hospitalization.
    • Current policy commence on 1st March 2017 up to 28 February 2018

    What you have to do:

    • in order to join Fill up an application  form and hand it over to the IESL finance dept. together with the applicable annual premium as per  schedule given on or before 31 March 2017.

    • when you want to make a claim - Fill up a claim form and deliver/ hand it over to the NITF together with the documents requested within 90 days of the event occurrence.  NITF Hotline 0702020247 and 0702020221

    • All accidents other than motor accident.

    • Benign Brain Tumor                                                     
    • Major Organ transplant, such as lung or bone marrow. (However this benefit will not be paid on donor of a major organ.)

    Draft Bill on Chamber of Construction Industry of Sri Lanka (Incorporation) –Ministry invites observations before sending for legal draftsman observation.


    The Ministry of Housing & Construction  by its letter dated 04/01/2017 to the IESL has invited  our observations on the above Bill which has been gazette on 15th November 2016 and presented by the Hon. (Prof.) Ashu Marasinghe M.P. for Colombo District on 30th November 2016.

    We are in the process of accepting Professional Review applications in FOUR batches in each year and the deadline for each batch in year 2017 is follows.

    16th January 2017 - for February/ March PR batch
    30th April 2017 - for May/ June PR batch
    15th July 2017 - for August/ September PR batch
    31st October 2017- for November/ December PR batch

    The dates mentioned above are only the final dates by which you need to submit your application if it is to be considered for processing under that particular batch. However for your own benefit you are advised to submit your application as early as possible without waiting till the last date.

    You are required to submit 03 sets of normal files containing mentioned documents arranged in the order from 1 to 11 as shown in the PR Check List (linked document) one file should contain the original application, original Log Book, and Experience Report, and the other two should contain copies of the same.

    You are also required to submit hard copies of Confidential Reports (linked document) which have to be duly filled by the proposers and sent to the IESL in sealed envelopes.

    ‘ENGINEER’ , the peer reviewed quarterly journal of the IESL now  gets published in the Sri Lanka Journals On Line  (SLJOL) which is a unique platform to share scientific knowledge making Sri Lankan research more available, accessible, detectible and noticeable, both nationally and internationally. At the website  the current journal issue as well as past issues could be viewed and downloaded.

    Published since 1973, the ‘ENGINEER’ is now at a turning point in its history as efforts are underway to include it in internationally renowned citation index platforms such as Scopus and the Web of Science.
