NOTICE

In order to legally practice Engineering in Sri Lanka under the Engineering Council of Sri Lanka (ECSL) Act (No 4 of 2017), Engineering Practitioners who work in the categories of 'Chartered Engineer', 'Associate Engineer' or 'Affiliate Engineer’, should get registered at the ECSL, through the Institution of Engineers, Sri Lanka (IESL). Please refer to the link http://www.iesl.lk/Engineering-Council-Sri-Lanka-(ECSL) to view the ECSL Act No 4 of 2017 and http://www.documents.gov.lk/files/gz/2019/5/2019-05-03(II-0)E.pdf to view the ECSL Gazette notification (English version).

Professional Standards Management Committee (PSMC) of the IESL has therefore initiated the process of formulating a mechanism to facilitate those practitioners to obtain the membership of the IESL, in respective categories as per their qualifications, experience and the categories under which they are currently registered in other professional engineering bodies recognized by the IESL.

After the process is approved by the Council of the IESL, due publicity will be given in our website and public newspapers inviting those practitioners of engineering to apply for the IESL membership in respective categories.
